According to series creator Miyamoto at a Nintendo roundtable meeting, he "wanted to see Pikmin there [on the Wii U]." Pikmin 1 and 2 on the Nintendo GameCube provided a refreshing experience as bizarre characters and storyline with solid gameplay helped to create a cult-hit. Now, with the new Wii U's hardware capabilities, Miyamoto is seemingly inspired to bring over one of Nintendo's hidden gems to a new platform following talks of holding the third iteration in the series on the regular Wii console. No official announcement was made regarding a Pikmin 3 seeing as how Nintendo is doing alot to avoid official release dates for any game on the Wii U but this should be indication enough that...well...Pikmin 3 will be on the Wii U and not the Wii.
