Chavo Guerrero Released by the WWE

In a shocking turn of events, longtime WWE employee Chavo Guerrero was released by the company as reported on WWE.com:

"World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown Superstar Chavo Guerrero as of today, June 25, 2011. We wish Guerrero the best in all future endeavors."

It was later revealed on The Mexican Warrior's Twitter that he asked for his release stating that he was underutilized and unhappy. Rumors circulating before Chavo's release were saying that Chavo took a lot of the heat for his disappointing match against Sin Cara at WWE's Over The Limit Pay-Per-View which may have led into WWE's quick decision on letting Chavo Guerrero go.

MIZZY'S REAX: The only surprise coming out of this release is how Chavo managed to stay in the WWE for about a decade (he's been around since WCW's purchase in '01). What bums me out about this is that Chavo is completely right for saying that he was underutilized especially in recent years. No one can forget his "feud" with Hornswoggle as hard as they try but not all is lost with Chavo being out of the WWE. Chavo has mentioned on Twitter that he's going to start being a family man but if he's ever going to take back up wrestling, he wouldn't do any harm showing up on Ring of Honor for a few shows.

It's absolutely true that Chavo has been underutilized. He never got the push he deserves in WWE. It's a damn shame 'cos I consider him one of the best they have. Well.. HAD.

The fact that he put up with it for so long is crazy. Perhaps he'll join his uncle in TNA.
